Installation help Bellum Crucis 6

Hello,first post.Could someone please assist with a step by step instruction for installing this, our first mod ? We have no real IT experience / knowledge. It downloaded from Megaupload OK , but on trying to install it we run up against "windows could not find kingdoms.exe "......We have Vista 64 Home Premium and I bought M2TW Gold ( which we have been playing for 2 years ). We could follow simple instructions..........Thanks.

try to install the mod as administrator

Thanks Housekeeper for your interest.We don't know what we are doing, really............Anyway,we installed it to Desktop following some forum research ( but did not "disable UAC " first, whatever that is ....would it matter ? ). We just tried running it as Administrator but got the same "Windows could not find kingdoms.exe ".We looked for "Administrator" in options to go back and install it under instead, but Administrator does not appear in that particular list.Since we have been playing Kingdoms, why can't Windows find it ? Step by step instructions for beginners is what we need !

Try this:
control panel/user account/disable user account control
Then try to run the installation

ps: remember to re-enable UAC when you finish

I had the same issue until a friend who also plays this mod told me to install the game and mod in a place other than Program Files. What you can do is copy the Sega folder out of Program Files and put it in one of the user folders, then install the Bellum Crucis mod there....it worked for me.

Mithras, and others, thanks for your advice and tips ............yet still we get " Windows could not find Kingdoms . exe " on attempts to run it. Such a "fundamental" error should be simple to diagnose one would think.......ie why can't Kingdoms be found ?

I have been receiving an error message for Bellum Crucis 6.3 and Medieval Total War 2 after shutting down my computer, after playing Bellum Crucis 6.3 after installation. Can you tell me why? I am running the english final update for 6.3. I am running METW2:Gold. This has happened to me while using download and when I bought the game again yesterday. I really love this mod, and I would love to play it without losing my game and reinstalling!
